BRUNEAU SAND DUNES |
The Bruneau Sand Dunes are a fun destination located just outside Mountain Home. There are lots of small hills to play on, as well as one really tall mound that is fun to hike to the top of via an approximately two-mile round-trip hike. There are also two lakes located at the base of the dunes that look out of place. The kids had a lot of fun running up and down the dunes and hiking to the tallest point. The Bruneau Sand Dunes are accessible nearly year round, as this area doesn't receive much snow. Both times we visited were in February. I remember the first time it being a bit windy, which makes things unpleasant with all the sand. So maybe do a quick check of the wind conditions before you visit to make sure its a pleasant visit.
